Fujiko Imajishi is a strong advocate for modern & contemporary music. She has performed and recorded solo works by international composers such as Arvo Pärt, Igor Stravinsky as well as the Canadian premieres of works by György Ligeti and Elliott Carter. The Accordes string quartet, of which she is a founder and the first violin, has recorded Canadian works by Jean Papineau-Couture, Harry Somers and Alexina Louie for the Canadian Music Centre's Centrediscs label.
