Caroline Spearing received her professional musical training at the University of Toronto, graduating with a degree in music education. John Simonelli had a profound effect on both the quality of her French Horn playing and her enjoyment of it.
She retired from Havergal College in Toronto, where she was Head of Music for six years. Under her direction the choral program flourished with the choirs winning awards at both the Toronto and Provincial Kiwanis Music Festivals. The choir toured England, singing in major cathedrals such as St. Paul’s London, and Ely Cathedral, Cambridge.
Before coming to Havergal, Caroline was the Head of Music at Agincourt Collegiate for nine years and music consultant for the Scarborough Board of Education; she also co-authored several Music Course Profiles for the Ontario Ministry of Education.
She is currently the conductor of the Jubilee Singers, a community chamber choir whose mandate includes performing Canadian and World Music.
